The pelvis tilts, the body slides forwards and the lower back remains tense. A footrest is therefore an essential part of ergonomic working. The Atlantic FootRest tilts from approximately 3° to 80°. This ensures natural movement throughout your working day. Subtle rocking during a conversation, relaxed tilting during meetings and stable support whilst concentrating on work. The movement is smooth and silent, allowing you to move without disturbing your colleagues.
That subtle movement does more than you might initially think. Scientific research into the so-called lower leg muscle pump shows that rhythmic muscle activity in the foot and lower leg stimulates the return of blood to the heart, thereby supporting blood circulation. This helps to reduce blood pooling in the legs and contributes to a more energised feeling during prolonged sitting (Journal of Biomechanics, 2024).

Easy adjustment
Everyone sits differently. That is why the Atlantic offers 6 height settings between approximately 10 and 20 cm. Adjustment is simple using your foot – no bending under the desk and no complicated manoeuvres. The spacious footplate, measuring approximately 30 x 44 cm, provides ample support for both feet.
Ergonomic background
A good computer workstation is all about achieving the right balance between chair, desk and user. You always start with the office chair: adjust it to suit your body. Then adjust the height of the desk accordingly. If the desk isn’t adjustable, set the chair so that your elbows are roughly level with the desk top. This is where a new problem often arises. Because the chair is higher, your feet no longer reach the floor properly. They dangle, or you unconsciously seek support with your toes. This may seem harmless, but it quickly causes your pelvis to tilt and your lower back to hold more tension.
